Week 2: Does the truth hurt?

Well that didn't take long.  Every season needs its token jerk.  This season it's Chad...

Chad doesn't want to be friends with the other guys.  Chad thinks he's better than everyone else.  Chad works out with his suitcase tethered to his body.

Wells, on the other hand, may not be the tough, macho type, but he won some awe's with his sweet, charming and just downright cute personality during the fire fighting date.  Which is why he got the group date rose - the man nearly fainted on national tv... he earned it.

I mean, Wells is adorable... but realistically, who doesn't like 'em tough and macho. Apparently  JoJo agrees or she wouldn't have had the fire fighter contest in the first place.

Be honest, every woman wants a guy who can carry her through a hole in a door.

And even though Grant won the date competition, Luke (the war vet) got the best one on one time with JoJo.  Cue the chemistry.

Back at the mansion, the guys have decided to compose a song for JoJo... a harmony of sorts... singing a song they worked on all day to win JoJo's love.  It goes something like this... JJJJOJOJJJJJOJOJJJJJOJO.

The actual one-on-one date with Derek bored me so ...   Let's move on.

Next... another group date.  But before we get there Chad needs to be a jerk once again to the guys who didn't get a date at all this week.  Loving the drama he brings.  Hoping he fools her long enough to stick around a while.

As a bonus, Chad also gives awesome advice.

The group date takes the men to the ESPN studios for "BachelorNation" - I didn't realize JoJo was a super sports fan.

The men are put through a series of challenges that allows them to look like total asses. Cause that's what you want in a man.  An ass.

Chad decides it's time to "get real" and win JoJo's heart by insulting her.

Chad keeps up his truth momentum by insulting the other guys and JoJo.
Chad comes in 2nd place in the competition's power ranking.
Turns out the truth doesn't hurt.
So yay... more Chad for a bit longer.

Annnnddd then we find out Chad's mom just passed away, literally, JUST passed away, like mere months ago... and he has a puppy he adores. The man knows how to play both villain and good guy.
I am so torn.

Meanwhile, the guys choose to sit around on the couch bad mouthing Chad.  Chad, on the other hand, grabs JoJo in a serious power move before she even enters the mansion for the cocktail party.  That move said it all.

Later, when the upset guys try to confront Chad he literally laughs at them and walks away. Another power move.  A "Chad", if you will.
This is the "Chad".

We also learn Chad really likes to eat, which also upsets the other men.

Again this week - some guys stayed, some were sent home.  I have no favourites yet to care who's who.

And finally, as I've said in the past, if you don't stay tuned long enough to catch the credits, you are seriously missing out.  The videos shown during the credits is probably the best part of the entire show.  No lie.

Note:  There is a 2 Episode event next week - Monday & Tuesday - drama drama drama!

And so, until then, I'm going to take this moment to say my goodbyes.

The Bachelorette Season 12

Week 1 - JoJo Meets the Men

Here we go... Season 12 of The Bachelorette with JoJo (that's 2 capital "J"s... which is annoying when you're writing a blog but I like her, so I'll do it, just for her).

First we get the down-low on some of the men about to meet JoJo.  Roll the montage.
Within the first 3 seconds I threw hate at the penis doctor for his ""I got my mojo for JoJo" - uh... no no!  He must go go!  There is no room for that kind of crap!

Ok... let's chat with past bachelorettes... Desiree is cute and sweet.  Ali is all smiles and happy sunshine.
And Kaitlyn is exactly what we expect - honest.  Love her.  Go Canada.
The ladies give advice, share stories (like that time Kaitlyn had sex on the show and lives to regret it) and wish JoJo luck.  It was heartfelt and a great time killer.

Now to meet the guys...

We have a huge group of good looking, confident, fun men.

And then there's the creepy Canadian guy.  Why, oh why did he have to suck?  Why do the ladies from Canada shine (Jillian, Kaitlyn) but the men suck so bad (Rated X, and now this guy)?
So embarrassing.
He also pokes other men in the belly button.  Not a great representation of Canada-eh?
"Damn Daniel!"

We already have our season villian - he's the guy with the great chin line and 5 o'clock shadow.  I know, I could be talking about any of the guys, they are all blending into one.  I'll let you figure it out for yourself, but let me say, he's showing the other look-a-likes no love at all.

JoJo seems impressed with everyone.  Or at least everyone's appearance because she keeps repeating how hot hot hot every one looks.

Of course no premiere would be complete without the sudden appearance of a former bachelor.
Enter Jake.
Because he's the greatest role model for love.

So to wrap up night one was full of awkward kisses...

Some workouts...

And lots and lots of drunks...

It's going to be a good season.

Until next week, I'm going to take this moment to say my goodbyes.

The Final Rose

Ben's journey to find love has come to an end... and even though he picked the wrong girl, it's ok.  I will be ok.  It just means that Ben got LoLo and we get more JoJo!  So in the end, it's really a win win.

Gone are the sleepless nights worrying Caila may be the next Bachelorette... replaced with the excitement and anticipation of JoJo's journey to find love.

Here is how it all went down.

The final two meet with Ben's parents.

LoLo is first up to meet Ben's folks, she immediately gets down to a first name basis.  Mike and Dolly (this may not be their actual names, but for the sake of my not remembering, they are now), well Mike and Dolly both like LoLo, calling her "polished".  Not a bad thing, mind you, but I just got the feeling they both pushed for JoJo after meeting her. Dolly "felt" something different between Ben and JoJo.  And that's about all the help his parents offered. So... no help really.

Then Ben admitted to Dolly he's in love with both ladies.

That face says it all - good luck with that one Benny-boy.

Final dates take place and Ben drops the L Bomb all over the place.  Apparently it doesn't matter who he says it to or how often, the man is in love with saying he's in love.  And the women are loving telling everyone Ben's saying he's in love with them.  And Chris Harrison is just along for the ride pretending to not know anything when really he knows all.

Ben keeps saying that with Lauren it all seems too good to be true.  Well... you know what they say...

And with JoJo he feels that they have become best friends and she gets him like no one else. She calms him and makes him at ease.  That seems like a good thing to me... no?

He is honest with JoJo and pulls no punches, admitting to her he's in love with Lauren as well.  She deals with it well and still holds out hope because he's giving her every reason to.

At this point I was totally convinced LoLo was going home.  I was blindsided, much like my gal JoJo.  The minute she stepped out of the limo first I cringed knowing she was going home.

End of the day, it's a blessing in disguise that Ben broke JoJo's heart because it means we get more of her, as the Bachelorette.  And selfishly, that works for me.

After ripping JoJo's heart out Ben does something that wins me over ... again.

Oh, no, not that... I just enjoy Ben shirtless.
No, Ben picks up the phone and calls Mr. Bushnell - Lauren's dad, to ask his permission to propose.  Swoon.  Those abs, that gesture... amazing on all fronts.  Especially that one...  Up there... shirtless.

Dad gives his blessing and JoJo is all but forgotten.  Ben "whoohoo's" with jubilation and LoLo heads down to meet him.

That was one amazing proposal.  He said all the things every woman hopes to hear in that moment.  I just hated that she looked kinda smug through parts of it.

But the upside is, JoJo is the new Bachelorette!  Yay for us!

Not much to recap in the After The Final Rose... Ben is happy, in love with LoLo.  JoJo is a fan fav.  And Caila... well, Caila who?

I'll be back to blog about JoJo on the Bachelorette... but until then, I'm going to take a moment and say my goodbyes.

The Women Tell All

"It's the Women Tell All" like you've never seen it" - to quote Chris Harrison.

Hell, I can recap The Women Tell All real quick:
The women are hurt Ben didn't pick them, but they all forgive him because he's awesome. They all love him even though he dumped each and every one.  Except Sheila, he never actually rejected Sheila.  So I'm not sure why  Sheila was sitting with the women.
Sheila - the chicken, not the chick

For those of you wanting a more detailed recap of the night, please, read on.
First we welcome back the angry ladies with their attitudes, short skirts and cleavage-baring dresses.
Every time they cut to Twin... well, this says it all.

Once again we are reminded that Lace "isn't" crazy.  Jubilee is unlovable.  Leah is a liar. Olivia has bad breath.  And Caila is still smiling... still smiling... even though she's living in dumpsville... she's still smiling.
Hopefully that will change as the episode goes on.

We begin by bashing everyone, as Harrison plays both instigator and referee.  I have to admit, up until now, I thought Jami and Amber were the same person.
At the very least, they could be clones.

Jubilee takes some heat for things said, but I really feel like she handles herself well.  She's just slightly awkward at times, but she is real.  She has a crazy, layered past.  She's deep.  She's interesting.  She would make a really great Bachelorette.  I'm team Jubilee.

Next into the "hot seat" is Lace, wearing lace.  She isn't crazy.  But getting a person's profile tattooed onto your body IS bat shit crazy!  Enter bat shit crazy guy.

When are we going to get to Olivia??  I've missed Olivia and her cankles, ugly toes and that gapping mouth!

No shock here, the women still hate Olivia.  I really hope she 'talks smart things'.
No luck, instead she spent the whole time apologizing and making excuses for herself with the other women.
She shares her story of being bullied as a child.  The women were still relentless.  I was begging for the aggressive, in your face, "come at me bro" Olivia we all knew and loved.  She did not appear in the hot seat.

Next up... Caila ...

Rumour has it Caila is the next Bachelorette.  I'm really hoping this isn't the case, she bores the hell outta me.  Even her recap montage was boring.  My only guess (if this is true) is that the runner up, (JoJo or Lauren) turned down Producers when asked to be the next Bachelorette so they had no where else to turn.
Enter Caila.  Which is a real bummer... if that's the case.

I would, again, appeal to have Jubilee as the next Bachelorette - she would be insightful, interesting, complicated and real.  But, I have no say.  Sadly.

Time for our Bachelor to take the hot seat and face all the scorned women he rejected on national television.  Not at all awkward.  I love this part.  Ok ladies, let him have it!!

Leah calls Ben on the Lauren lie.  Ben turns it around and calls her out on it.  Go Ben.
Jubilee calls Ben out on his relationship with her vs the other women.  Ben explains himself well.  Go Ben.
Olivia lets Ben totally off the hook.  Go Ben.
Amanda proclaims how much every woman in America fell in love with Ben, because he's awesome.  Wow.  Go Ben.
I am in awe.

Ben confesses he's in love... hopefully it's with just ONE woman.  Because we all know how he likes to profess his love to multiple women.

The Bloopers this season were by far the best bloopers of all the seasons.
I actually lol'd.  For real.  Or as my son says, For Real Life.

Stay tuned for the "most dramatic 3 hour event of The Bachelor" next week.

Until then, I'm just going to take a moment to say my goodbyes.

Week 9 - Is there an Echo... Echo?

Week 9 and Ben is in love, like a lot, with a lot of women, just not Caila.  But definitely the other two.

AND It's Fantasy Suite time and everyone is excited for it.  Well, to be fair, Caila is always excited and happy... so very happy.

Off to Jamaica and you know what that means... Ben's rocking the short shorts!!  Seriously, they are shockingly short... and tight.  It's incredible.  I don't understand how he walks in those things.

The first date goes to Caila, the happiest person ever!  Her cheeks must ache at the end of every day.
Oddly, Caila is quiet as the date starts... so quiet it's awkward.  But thankfully she's still smiling.  Can't stop smiling.  I'm thinking their date must have been a real drag since the daytime scenes were over quickly and we soon see them in the evening about to have dinner.

How much times passes between the day date and the dinner?  I'm asking because Caila states that she really missed Ben when they meet up for dinner - has it been days?  Hours?Minutes?  Perhaps she has separation anxiety?

Ben admits his "biggest concern" with Caila is that she's always happy and smiling.  Yah, that's my problem too.  It's a legit concern.

On Lauren's date they free baby turtles.  Ah-mazing!  Best date.

Later, in the aftermath of her turtle high, Lolo reveals to Ben "he's the man of her dreams"... he tells her he's afraid she's too good for him, she says she feels the same about him.  Then they both drop the "L" bomb!  Lauren is shocked when Ben says it ... uh yah, me too!!

Lauren loves Ben.  Ben loves Lauren.  She's super happy.  They are super cute.

Sooo... it's over right?

Well... not so fast.

In a shocking turn of events, Ben ALSO loves JoJo !!!!

And her reaction is the ultimate!  I had goosebumps!  I might have lost it a little.

So Ben loves JoJo... and LoLo... oh No No!!

At this point it's safe to say that Caila is a goner. since she is the only one to not have received Ben's reciprocated proclamation of love, which is saying a lot since he was dishing it out to just about everyone.

I love JoJo, she's super cute but I can't go on without saying I HATED her lingerie-looking bikini!!!  I mean, I loathed it.  Really.  PLUS there is NO WAY it stayed on after that jump!

But she is adorable, absolutely.

Caila decides to surprise Ben before the rose ceremony and gets a surprise of her own as he rips her heart into millions of little pieces.
In true Caila style, she smiles the entire time and is the most congenial as she gets into the SUV headed to Dumpsville.

All I could think is how she must be a really light packer since she's wearing the same thing she wore the day of her date.  Girl loves her sports bras.

Sooo, now what?  What is Ben going to do now that he's in love with two women?  Yikes... someone is going to end up totally brokenhearted.

I feel for Benny-boy, I really like both women too.  They give me serious hair envy.

Cue the uncomfortable hug sandwich.

Next week it's The Women Tell All!!   OLIVIA's BAAAACCCCKKKKK!!!!

Until then, I'm going to take a moment and say my goodbyes.
